10 Minute Craft Dash

I don't do many challenges, but I thought I'd take a shot at this one:

9 min. 54 sec.

Being it my first 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge, I must say I was a little overwhelmed! But I managed to get it done! I think I could have gotten it done sooner, but I lost my train of thought a couple times, and was prepared as much as I would have liked - oh well!

I loved working with those colors! And I'd definitely do the challenge again!

The organizing continues...

Somehow I managed to have the whole weekend to myself - which was welcomed and needed. I was able to organize some more and even make some cards!

I sorted through my white paper scraps. They were originally residing with my neutrals in a drawer, but I realized I had more white card stock scraps than I knew what to do with! I've got to use some of it up! So now their home is right in front of my, in a little bin, while I craft:

that's so much!

I've been dying to try out the latest trend I'm seeing - using sequins on cards. I've seen the cards that Paulina at Pretty Pink Posh makes using sequins from Neat & Tangled - and they're gorgeous! Since I don't know which colors to choose (I want them all really) or if I can really get into using them, I wanted to get a sampler pack - and found some at Michael's!

all those colors for just $2.99 (and then I got those tubes to put them in! Perfect!)

Now on to the cute cards I got to make! My BF's cousin had a beautiful baby girl this weekend - so you now I HAVE to send a card:

I got to use some sequins too!

And then I made this cute kid's birthday card:

That's all for now!

When It Rains, It Pours...

My body is hating me lately - health problem, after health problem... when will it stop? This latest one has slowed me down quite a bit. (I have two severely inflamed discs in my back, most likely caused by the Quarter Marathon walk I did this past weekend for breast cancer awareness.)

Although I've been quite sore and in pain, I did manage to make some thank you cards for donations made from said walk:
Of course it had to have some pink for breast cancer awareness!

Close up of the flower - I used a wink-of-stella clear glitter pen!

I love how these cards came out - so girly and dainty! The recipients loved them!

I usually don't buy a lot of products all at once, but I just couldn't resist. Here's a picture of my recent "haul":
(Please excuse the terrible photo - it was a quick photo in terrible lighting)
Items in haul:
2 different shades of pink card stock
dark kraft card stock
Kaiser Kraft Life clear stamp
ZIG Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

I'm making another card tonight for a co-worker, so hopefully I can post that tomorrow. And I'm looking forward to getting some sewing done this weekend...since I can't do much anything else.

Thanks for stopping by!

Better late than never!

I must say, I am horrible at remembering birthdays! Its either the day of or the day after that I remember the birthday. Which would be okay, but I love giving cards (my handmade ones, of course!) and its often too late to send them!

I recently bought Lawn Fawn's Year Two birthday stamp set, which in turn is perfect for my problem with remembering birthdays! The set includes a wonderful "Happy Birthday" sentiment that is two stamps, so if you needed to insert the "belated" stamp (also in the set) you can!

I actually just made a belated birthday card the other day that I would like to share with you!

Products used:
Lawn Fawn Pink Lemonade Petite Paper Pack
Sizzix Circles Framelits
Doodlebug Designs Doodle Twine in Ladybug
Crystal Effects

Thanks for visiting!

Organize it

I LOVE to organize! Art supplies, clothing, the house, files....and my life. I want to make everything easier and cleaner, so I can enjoy everything in life to the fullest.

The past year has been filled with new things; things that have made me re-adjust, like: new job, which means driving a longer distance to and from work than I have ever before and starting (and struggling) with a lifestyle change. My time is being filled more with these new things, and sometimes I feel I just cannot keep up. Something has to change. I need to get organized so life doesn't pass me by.

Since things are not organized in the best way possible right now, I'm stressed. And since I'm stressed, I'm struggling with the lifestyle change that I so desperately want and need. This stress is then overflowing into my relationships and is not doing me any good.

I started Crossfit in July, and I was really into it. It's what I needed. A different, tough workout everyday. A coach to push me through. Supporters. But, life and this "stress" I've been feeling is getting in the way once again. I'm not wanting to go - or I'm not as excited. I want that "spark" back. I don't want to give up. But when I look at the scale and the number going up, but the fat's not going away.... I get a little discouraged.

Anywho, that brings me back to organizing. I've tried to keep a journal of what I eat, and now, a Crossfit journal - on my phone, in a tiny spiral notebook, an app on my ipad - nothing seems to stick. So I'm making my own - what works for ME. I'm going to design the pages to what fits my needs.

I want my life back! No stress!

PS - I revamped my blog too. Change is good!

9.3

Wow, I haven't written in awhile. Life took over - some unexpected bumps in the road and a [much needed] vacation.... and no crafting.

But, with that said, I did do some rearranging of my craft space. My BF had made me a beautiful shelf to house my stamps. But, I came home from work one day with the shelf broken on the ground. I was devastated. You can see the wood shelf in the middle of the picture below, kind of behind the chair. What a mess!!! Stamps were thrown all over the place.

After I picked up the mess, the stamps stayed pile don my desk for a few days...I simply did not know what to do with them.

(This might have been a blessing in disguise because I think I was out-growing the shelf.)

I already have a couple of Ikea's BILLY bookcases with my crafting supplies supplies spilling out of them, so I figured I might as well get another. (YAY more space to fill!) While at Ikea, my BF made this amazing discovery:

GENIUS!!!! I had to have the BENNO dvd tower.  I knew it would work perfectly. And here is the end result:

The tower matches perfectly to my existing BILLY bookcase. The top left insert on the picture shows some of my stamps. And I even got creative with my marker storage (bottom insert) - empty Crystal Light containers glued together!

I just need to get some more clear photo cases, and I'll be good to go.

Yay! I love it when things work out in the end. And I LOVE to organize.

I was going to share my wish-list, but it's pretty long.... I'll save it for tomorrow!

Cheers!
